Panoramic Views of Upper Swabia – From Biberach to Ringschnait
After a hearty breakfast at your accommodation in Biberach, you’ll start the day full of energy. Our first stop is the elevated water tank in Ringschnait, which, at 653 meters above sea level, is the highest vantage point in Biberach. Monastic Architecture in Nature – the Ochsenhausen Krummbach
Continue your journey via Mittelbuch to Ochsenhausen. You’re already familiar with the monastery complex from previous visits, so this time it’s all about “strolling and sightseeing.” Along the Krummbach, which was originally created by monks as a water supply for the monastery, you’ll enjoy the idyllic natural surroundings and the fresh air. (Parking available right at the start of the Krummbach hiking trail, 100 m from the monastery) 12 km
So close to the sky – From Baroque to Rococo and Classicism
The route continues via Rottum, Dietmanns, and Albers to Bad Wurzach. The route offers breathtaking views of the Wurzacher Ried. This wetland is the largest contiguous and still intact raised bog in Central Europe and one of the largest nature reserves in Baden-Württemberg. In Bad Wurzach, everything revolves around the Baroque and Rococo periods.
The Baroque staircase in the entrance hall of the former castle, now Salvatorkolleg, is truly impressive. Near the tourist information office, you’ll find parking and public restrooms. The same building also houses a hidden Rococo chapel, considered one of the most beautiful private chapels of its kind. After the ornate flourishes of the Rococo style, architects returned to straight lines. The transition to Classicism can be admired in the town church. Don’t miss the small staircase leading up to the side gallery to enjoy the view from above. 23 km

Spend your lunch break in Bad Waldsee, where you can relax in a lakeside restaurant or a café in the old town. Enjoy regional specialties and recharge your batteries for the rest of the day. Parking is available at the large Bleiche parking lot, where the rear section is free to use. Are you feeling active? Take a stroll around the picturesque lake to aid digestion before continuing on. 13 km
The Good Old Days – Kürnbach Open-Air Museum
Next, head to the open-air museum in Kürnbach (closed for the winter from November to March), near Bad Schussenried. Explore the historic buildings and learn more about rural life in days gone by. Visit the clone of the original Jakob Fischer apple tree, the old school, and the tractor exhibition. To finish off, treat yourself to a delicious coffee and cake at the museum café and browse the museum shop. 11 km
