The Weissgerber Walk

The family-owned business was founded in 1723 and is currently in its ninth generation of ownership by the Kolesch family. They produce deerskin using the traditional “Altsämisch” tanning method, which is likely unique in Germany—and perhaps even in all of Europe. A large portion of the leather is processed into leather clothing at their own facility. They also tan fur pelts using a white tanning process.
