Messkirch Castle is considered to be the earliest four-winged complex north of the Alps. The centrepiece is the Renaissance banqueting hall with its original coffered ceiling.
Today, the castle regularly serves as an impressive backdrop for events of all kinds. The rooms can also be hired for private events and seminars.
Museum lovers in particular get their money's worth at Meßkirch Castle. Fans of old cars will be amazed by the vintage car museum in the castle's coach house. The district gallery in the south wing displays the impressive art collection of the district of Sigmaringen and in the east wing another museum provides information about the life and work of the important philosopher Martin Heidegger.
Detailed information on the history, museums, events, room hire and guided tours can be found on the castle's new website at www.schloss-messkirch.de
