One of the places of inspiration in Biberach is the Wieland Park. Christoph Martin Wieland once rented a garden house here. Inspired by Wieland’s literary retreat, Hans Dieter Schaal, an artist and architect, designed the park as a place for gathering, relaxation, and reflection. In 2024, the park was designated a cultural monument by the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments.
The Wieland-Museum is now located in the garden.
A glimpse of another world. Feel the power that lies within this park.
Hans Dieter Schaal makes the invisible and the unconscious visible in the landscape. A stroll through the park becomes a journey through the past and realms of imagination.
Geometry and nature, the sculpted and the organic, the emotional and the rational, the transient and the infinite create fascinating points of tension in Wieland Park.
The open-minded observer will find diverse repetitions of these pairs of opposites in the park’s installations, pathways, and vistas.
